The electric rain gauge is a sensor designed for automated measurement of atmospheric precipitation, based on a high-reliability tipping-bucket system. The device consists of a stainless steel body with a calibrated inlet, where collected water is channeled through a funnel into a tipping bucket mechanism. Each bucket tipping event generates an electrical pulse proportional to the amount of precipitation. The instrument enables continuous measurement of rainfall in terms of cumulative depth and intensity, with high accuracy and repeatability, complying with international standards for meteorological monitoring. Thanks to its robust construction and compatibility with data acquisition systems, the rain gauge represents a reliable solution for environmental, geotechnical, and infrastructure applications.
